The anniversary turntable uses the Rega RB600 Tonearm, and is wired with low-capacitance Klotz GY 107 cable, Neutrik RCA plugs, and the high-density tungsten counterweight, all of which are used on Regas RB900 Tonearm. The plinth is also a step up from the Planar 3 turntable. The previous owner upgraded to a Deep Groove sub-platter, and Ruby bearing. The motor pulley has been upgraded from a stock plastic to a polished metal one. One of the nice features on the Planar 25 is that it is fitted with a compact circuit that is small enough to fit in the motor housing under the plinth, and, more important, is effective enough to allow the motor to be hard-mounted, thus eliminating many of the problems in a suspended motor like on the Planar 3. We fitted the table with a New Old Stock Grado Blue cartridge. The table sounds fantastic, and is in very good physical condition. There are some blemishes and nicks in the finish along the front edge of the plinth, and on the left and right side, where the lid comes down. The top has some light scuffs and swirls, but it is in very good condition. Overall the table presents itself very well, and it has been well cared for. See pictures for further details on the condition of the table. We dont have the original box for this unit, but we take packaging and shipping seriously. We spare no expense and use heavy duty boxes, several inches of polyethylene foam on all sides of the unit, and use water activated, fiber reinforced tape on all seams.
