Why so special? Because this is already a rare cartridge with the intact beryllium cantilever. Beryllium is THE BEST cantilever material there is because it is lightweight, insanely rigid, and possesses vibration transmission speeds unparalleled by other materials. It is rare these days because beryllium has been banned for use as a cantilever material due to the toxicity of the tiny shavings created when it is being machined. This cantilever was machined long ago and so possesses none of the toxicity issues. Micro-Acoustics cartridges are truly unique in that they are not magnetic as 99% of cartridges are. Tested and working. The dust cover is in good condition with no cracks or splits. The tonearm rest is broken (see photo). The rest has been glued before multiple times. The cartridge is a Micro Acoustics MA-2002E.
