This is a Meridian 506 CD player that we are selling AS IS. It is untested, but looks to be in very good condition. The reason it hasn’t been tested is because the power plug is missing. It looks to be a typical C13 power cord and those are pretty easy to come by. We will happily update the description if we are able to find the cable and properly test it.

Here I have a Meridian 506 16 bit CD player. I have owned this unit approximately 20 years and I believe it was manufactured around 1993. It is in excellent condition externally, is extremely well built with robust CD transport system and has been in regular use up until recently. However, it has never played ‘home-burn’ CDs (probably not designed to) and will not play or is reluctant to play (needs one or more attempts) some older and cheaper brand (e.g. Naxos) CDs, since it cannot read CD table of contents (‘toc’ displays). More up to date CDs mostly play OK, with excellent sound. I would therefore ask that if you do bid on it, you should do so in the knowledge of these issues, albeit it has always been like this and does not seem to have deteriorated. There is no remote control. In excellent condition and working perfectly.This is one of the earlier 506 models with the large substantial cd drawer that provides greater stability and solid build quality. (i never understood why Meridian changed this cd drawer)comes with original remote that controls all Hi Fi equipment from the 500 series. Meridian 506.24 high end CD Player, remote, re-capped, serviced & new laser Owned since new in 2000 with original box and receipts. Reluctantly streamlining and downsizing my system, really sorry to see it go but I now only use this as a transport so the super onboard DAC is going to waste! It shares the same servo and laser as the 500 and 508 models. The transport is extremely strong, the whole tray comes out and is very solid. Its in superb condition from smoke-free home. It was serviced, re-capped and new laser fitted by Russ Phillips (Mr Tech Guy https://www.mrtechguy.co.uk/ ) in 2021, receipt supplied. Gorgeous sound and very highly regarded high-end CD player. Comes in its original box with manuals, receipts and Meridian System Remote and a MCRU hifi power lead. It shares its minimalistic design with all the 500 series, the only difference being the colour of the on-off strip. It cost me £1,195 new in 2000 and a further £420 on the full service with laser replacement and re-capping.
