A very rare opportunity to acquire such a formidible and rare unit with such a comprehensive service and new parts. It has just had a major service. All 3 belts were replaced. Additionally, the head, capstan, pinch roller and pulleys have been cleaned. ALL 62 ELOTROLYTIC CAPACITORS have been replaced. The heads have been demagnetised and aligned for azimuth. The mechanism has been degreased and re-lubricated. The controls have been cleaned and solder joints reflowed to ensure stability for years to come. The sound is excellent sound from the 2-way speaker system (seperate woofers and tweeters). All cassette functions perform correctly. The radio is clear and responsive, and the aerials are original, fully intact and not bent. Reception is excellent, with FM stereo functioning well - with stations subject to your local coverage of course. She is nearly 50 years old, so please remember that you are not buying a new unit, despite the lovely overall condition - there will be wear and tear after nearly 50 years! A very rare opportunity to acquire such a formidible and rare unit in original, complete condition. It has just had a major service, with all circuit boards, controls and tape mechanism removed. All 3 belts were replaced. Additionally, the head, capstan, pinch roller and pulleys have been cleaned. The mechanism has been degreased and re-lubricated. The controls have been cleaned and numerous solder joints reflowed. The unit has been deep cleaned and polished. All knobs, buttons & switches are present, original and correct. The sound is excellent sound from the 2-way speaker system (seperate woofers and tweeters). All cassette functions perform correctly. The radio is clear and responsive, and the aerials are original. One aerial has a bend (making it a little stiff), but is intact and operates fine. Easy to replace, but nicer to keep the original. Reception is excellent, with FM stereo functioning well (see the FM Stereo light in the photos) - with stations subject to your local coverage of course. This is a proper old skool Ghetto Blaster from the 80s!!! It really looks the part, and all the controls are lovely and tactile and satisfying to play around with! It has soft eject on the tape deck, and analogue needles in the display that swing back and forth to the music. It also has a built in display light so you can watch those needles twitch even when its dark! Unfortunately, the rubber band on the tape deck has perished so the cogs wont turn, but with a bit of knowhow i am sure it can be brought back to life! Radio works fine, and it can be powered by batteries, or 220v with the included UK mains cable. Or you can use a DC 12v power supply (not included, and socket not been tested) Proper collectors item, or would be a great prop for a movie set back in the day!!! I will even include some cassettes id youwant them! (dont know whats on them, but you can record your own stuff onto them with the built in condenser mic! It is physically in good condition, clean with no rust in the battery compartment, but there is a small dent in the edge in front of the tape controls (check the photos!) Great vintage item! Grab a bargain!!!
