I abandoned that idea, as the walls rattle even at moderate volume levels. I resorted to a separate sub. This amp would be ideal for a pair of low efficiency speaker system. This beast is heavy, at 45 lb., but has been rock solid in performance & reliability. I will package it carefully to avoid shipping damage. Caution! This Hafler DH500 Amplifier has the power to drive any speaker to destruction! I measured 270 Watts per channel at 8 Ohms, 0.6% THD and over 400 Watts into 4 Ohms (I dont have a big enough load to test at full power). I have confidence that this amp will last for years if not mistreated, and guarantee it for 30 days. Hafler Amplifiers were designed as super amps, with great sound for picky audiophiles, along with wide bandwidth, very low harmonic and IM distortion and high damping factor. This amp more than holds it own against far more expensive current generation amps-see the many online reviews. Speaker outputs are fused with 7 Amp Fast Blow fuses. You may wish to lower the value to protect your speakers--see enclosed manual for details, a free, $15 addition. Someone had worked on this amp before I got it. I have replaced incorrect transistors with the correct new ones and have done other repairs as needed.
