Chicago Bears - FanVision Handheld TV with Charger, Earplugs, Cables - New Open Box Part Number K-IVT-300-GD-B For those unfamiliar with FanVision, the tablet-like device allowed fans at the track to watch a closed-circuit TV broadcast along with in-car cameras and other angles of the race not offered to viewers at home. It also allowed those at the track to listen to officials, in-car radios, track PA and radio. These are original Kangaroo TVs FanVision in-stadium video handheld systems. The system is actually super interesting, as it was the only large-scale DVB-T operation seen in the States; FanVision set up a private network for each team and sports event they work with. At Soldier Field, there were two transmitters at either end of the field for people in the stadium, and another located in the scoreboard so the devices work while people are tailgating in the parking lot. The system had about 8Mbps of bandwidth, so each of the 10 channels on the device streamed at about 800Kbps, on the Fan Vision handhelds 4.3-inch QVGA screen. Such is the power every sports fan has with FanVision. The mobile handset, about the size of a GPS unit and weighing a few ounces, has been used for NASCAR races, Formula 1 races and PGA Tour events as well as NFL football games.The device, which sports a 4.3-inch screen, gave fans the ability to watch the game theyre attending in real-time from five angles.
