This one began a few months ago to have a static hum even when the output sound level was set to zero. At normal listening level (and we like music thats clear, not loud) the hum is imperceptible unless you REALLY listen for it. Def Tech Customer Support says that it sounds like an issue with one component of the ampilfier electronics, but that they no longer have repair parts for that unit. They referred me to an authorized repair facility in the Chicago metro area who said that the problem might be repairable but also said (predictably) that they would not even attempt a diagnosis over the phone. I dont have the time for the 3 - 4 hour round trip, so Im selling AS-IS to someone who wants to invest the time -- or have the parts.
