High efficiency power amplifier – Dual charge pumps and linear post-regulators increase the voltage and stabilise the power supply available for the voltage amplifier stage, eliminating any trace of power supply ripple and noise, with no sag under load. The extra headroom that this provides swings the current amplifier further towards its rails, giving a full 70W 8-ohm performance. Higher current output stage – When driving real music into a real loudspeaker load, massive currents are demanded from a power amplifier stage. For the Cyrus 8 our designers have effectively doubled the peak current capability of the power amplifier and halved its output impedance to enable a far greater transfer of energy from the power supply into difficult speaker loads.
