I used it in both a headphone setup and in my main home stereo system with excellent results. This is a Stereophile Class A recommend component as are each of its offspring. It offers a highly detailed and layered sound that competes well above its price point. Of all the Benchmark DAC 1 options. The PRE and HDR offer the most versatility and were the last versions of the DAC1 before being replaced by the DAC2. The HDR simply offers a remote control which the PRE does not. This unit is in excellent condition overall with no scratches or dings anywhere on it. The only thing I see that keeps it from being mint is the n in the analog input lettering is partially missing (see photos). Everything functions as it should and it sounds excellent. The original power cord is included. There is no documentation or original packaging but it will be securely packaged for shipping.
