Hello and welcome to the sale of my Teac A-1230 stereo, 3 head, 3 motor, 4 track reel to reel which is now in full working order and good cosmetic condition. Deck has been fully serviced with new belts etc and has all electrolytic caps replaced. The motors have also been stripped. cleaned and lubricated as has the capstan. A new pinch roller has also been fitted as well as the main motor resistor. The heads have been cleaned and degaussed and show very little wear. It has been fully tested in all modes and both speeds (3.75/7.5ips) and records/plays back to a very high quality. I have now recorded a number of tapes on this machine and using good quality tape (Maxell UD XL1) it produces results very close to my Revox and Pioneer decks. Cosmetically, there are one or two light surface scratches on the front panel and the head cover has some light corrosion as pictured. The wooden side panels have some nicks and wear to the edges. there are also some scratches on the back panel. Rewind & fast forward are both well controlled and fast. These decks are now rare and few have had the sort of attention that has been lavished on this deck. The sale includes mains and phono leads, plastic take up spool pictured, a couple of used tapes of unknown quality and a copy of the instruction manual. Collection is my preferred option so that the buyer can test the deck to ensure they are happy. If postage is the only option, it will be shipped by Ebay/Packlink fully insured.

RARE Vintage TEAC A-1230 Reel to Reel Tape Recorder for PARTS OR REPAIR. I have not tested the reel to reel to any extent. It may be working or may have issues. I am not sure. Teac A-1230 Reel To Reel Tape Recorder. This tape machine from TEAC is in mint condition cosmetically. It has been really well looked after and has had few owners. It’s in full working order and functions as new. It sounds incredible with really no need for noise reduction. It takes quarter inch tape and 7.5 inch reels. It’s got such presence in a room/studio. The sound, design and feel of the analog buttons/levers is of the highest quality. I’ve been using this machine for a while now in my studio, however, I’m looking to try new machines so putting this one up for auction. Included in the price are two brand new quarter inch reels (made by AGFA), plus a take up reel so you can get started with recording straight away. I also have a printed copy of the manual which you can have. Your more than welcome to come and collect it from Redland in Bristol. For Teac Reel Tape A-1230 A-1250 Pressure Pinch Roller Card for Belt Features: brand new and high quality Restore your old, worn, or deteriorated rollers to ensure your machine is performing at its best. 1. Remove the old rollers from your machine 2. Using the , cut away as much of the old rubber as you can from the metal hub 3. Using a solvent such as clean any remaining remnants of rubber away from the hub. for work in ventilated area when working with , and wear suitable gloves. Take some for to ensure that the metal of the hub is perfectly clean and ‘silver’ before moving to the . 4. Immerse both the metal hub and the new rubber tyre in to some water with a little dishwashing detergent mixed in. This will assist the tyre to slide in to place, without binding and causing lateral tension 5. Place the hub horizontally on a flat , and press the tyre smoothly but firmly down on to the hub Make sure the edges line up neatly and evenly on both sides. 6. Dry the outside with a clean cotton cloth, or allow to air dry. Reinstall on machine, oiling shaft lightly.
