This information is per my Internet research as I am not the original owner. The cartridge came with a turntable I purchased. This is an original rare early model SUPEX SD-900 moving coil cartridge which is noted for its high quality sound. This cartridge was handmade by master Japanese cartridge maker Yosaki Sugano san who went on to make the high end Koetsu phono cartridges. This cartridge has a nice rosewood body with an elliptical 0.2 x 0.8 mil stylus tip. The cartridge is all original with no retipping. Since I am not the original owner, I am unsure as to how many hours use the cartridge has. However, it was tested and it tracks well with high quality sound. The cantilever was inspected under glass and is straight in very nice condition. The rosewood body is in excellent condition except for the edges around the stylus. I attribute this wear to a slide on stylus protector that came with the cartridge but I am unsure if this was the cause of the wear but it seems the likely cause. The rear gold terminals are in excellent condition with light wear. The cartridge is in overall excellent condition. This is a low output moving coil cartridge at 0.2Mv so will need a transformer for use. It will be carefully packed and insured for shipping. My listening room is almost perfect with a height of 6.5 m in inverse V (see pictures 16 and 17), and thus with a huge volume. The Quads ESL 63 Pro are perfectly placed at 1.2 m of the back and lateralwalls in stone (0.7 m thick) and distant of 4.5 m. The insulation of the walls on the back of the Quads has been rigidified to avoid any parasite vibration as the Quads function in doublet. There is a specific electric line for the stereo directly from the electric counter. You may notice 1) that the amplifier at the bottom of my rack is sufficiently far away of the other components to avoid any radiation of the monstrous output transformers of the McIntosh amplifier 7270, and 2) that the Quads are on home-made metallic stands. They are filled with sand with cork supports on both the metallic plate bottom of the Quads and on the wooden floor. In my personal opinion the Quad stands are not high enough to get a perfect stereo image for a seated listener. I have plenty of test CDs including the Chesky volumes 1 to 3, plenty of friends who are musicians, and I regularly assist to live concerts of mostly Baroque music, blues and jazz...
