I have for sale a Sony CDP-608ESD Compact Disc Player. Shows some slight wear but overall it’s in very good cosmetic condition. Please inspect photos carefully as they form part of the description. This unit was working before being placed in storage a few years ago. Now the disc spins up and mostly it doesn’t read the disc nor play. With a lot of coaxing and some fiddling of the controls, I can sometimes get it to play the disc. The CD drawer also closes on its own but not always. For these reasons, I’m selling this strictly AS-IS for parts or restoration. Listing another one of my audio component as I seem to have less and less time to enjoy the hobby. I have too many CD players and so they all dont really have extensive use as I tend to rotate them. Amongst those that I have owned and sold are Marantz CD-94s, Philips CD-880 & CD-80, Sony CDP-XA7ES. etc. Just keeping a Sony CDP-X707ES for my infrequent use. Im finally being pragmatic about the pieces of equipment I own. The CDP-608ESD is an ES machine and solidly built to the hilt. Sports the classic wood side panels. A good write up about it can be found on hi-ficlassic.net. Can be used as a stand alone player or connect to an outboard DAC of your choice if you choose to (it has a coax and optical out). It also features a variable out, and can be used directly connected to a (suitable) amplifier. Has a headphone jack and also a timer (not commonly found). Much as I would love to keep it, I have decided to be pragmatic about my audio equipment collection. Unit is in excellent electrical condition and but have some minor cosmetic blemishes (a couple of dings and scratches on the top not distracting, and some letters rubbed off). I do not have the remote for it but I am sure you can find a replacement on eBay or online. Comes from a non smoking home.
