This plays both blu-rays region a and is Region free for DVDs! I plugged it in and popped in a disc and its working perfectly. I tried it with both blu-rays and DVDs both region 1 and a few from other regions and it played everything. Comes with power cable manual and remote. Unfortunately I no longer have the box due to a burst water heater (the player was not in the box at the time so no worries) Everything seems to run great. I took photographs of it playing as you can see. The only thing I noticed was that occasionally you need to push the drawer button twice for it to open if its been off for a while. Apparently this was an issue occasionally with the bdp-83s. Whats amazing is oppo still services these for a small fee so if you ever wanted the whole drawer assembly replaced all you have to do is ship it to them and they take care of it. But it always opened for me. Oppo was renowned for making the very best DVD and Blu-ray players. Picture quality is superb!Item will be well packed and shipped within 2 days of sale. Its been a part of my audiophile AV setup for the last few years and performed flawlessly. The picture and sound are quite lovely! Unfortunately, the tray does not load, otherwise other functions including remote and the display seem to be working fine. Its quite possibly an easy fix, but I just dont have time to figure it out so Im letting it go. It really is an awesome and versatile unit when fully working working. Hopefully you can get it to work! Id certainly love to see someone getting further use out of it than my just discarding it.
