I have been a collector of the Nagra SN, SNN and SNST for years and a couple of times while gently rewinding a tape the mechanical mechanism jammed and would then prevent it from playing tapes and required costly repairs. I have seen the Nagra rewind unit which operates on A.C. only selling on ebay and although I wanted it I refused to pay the $2,000.00+ price tag. So, I decided to make my own way to rewind Nagra SN tapes at a fraction of the price. The result is my modification of a portable Reel to Reel tape recorder with custom made Nagra tape adapters. It rewinds the Nagra SN tapes flawlessly and does it conveniently while you wait and best of all there’s no wear on your tape heads. Their Nagra rewind unit requires 110 volts or 220 volts but mine uses 2 “C” size batteries (Not included) for convenience wherever you go without the need of an A.C. outlet. Included are custom made patented adapters to hold the Nagra SN reels securely while rewinding your Nagra SN, SNN & SNST tapes.No tapes or empty reels are included and shown for display only. The $2,000.00+ rewind unit uses belts that eventually will need to be replaced but mine uses no belts because the motor is direct drive. Since your tapes can be covered with the lid closed when you rewind tapes this also gives you the benefit of a dust free environment and it’s the perfect companion to your Nagra SN and SNN because you can take it with you when you’re on the go with a convenient handle. This is a modified SONY tape recorder that not only rewinds and forward winds tapes it also plays audio and has a capstan drive so the speed is excellent for music and voice for playing and rewinding Nagra SNN at 3 3/4 IPS and SN-SNS TAPES AT 1 7/8 IPS. It Plays and rewinds/forward winds the Nagra SN, SNN and SNS tapes and has a built in speaker with good volume but I am including a external amplified speaker for excellent loud volume. This tape recorder requires 220 volts but also uses 4 “D” size batteries (Not included) for convenience wherever you go without the need of A.C but the built in transformer can be set to change the voltage if used with the A.C. cord (not included) Included are custom made patented adapters to hold the Nagra SN reels securely while playing rewinding and forward winding your Nagra SN,SNN and SNS tapes. This is the rare Nagra SMR which allows a V.U. meter reading when recording and controls the audio with the Nagra SN, Nagra SNN and Nagra SNS tape recorder.(NOT INCLUDED)I received it when I bought a Nagra SN tape recorder and never used it because I have no Microphone but I borrowed the microphone and line input cable from a friend and confirmed the record function and V.U. Meter work great however its always in record mode even when play is chosen on the switch so you cannot accidentally stop recording until you remove the SMR plug from the Nagra tape recorder.This SMR is excellent for changing the volume while watching the V.U. meter and listening when recording with a microphone or line input cable with the Nagra SN, SNS, and SNN.It comes in used condition as shown in the photos.This is sold in as-is used condition but functions as described.The Line input cable and Microphone connector are not included but I HAVE THE LINE INPUT CABLE BRAND NEW IN ANOTHER AUCTION.Priority mail shipping is $20.00Worldwide shipping is with Ebay Global shipping.Please see my other items for sale.
