This was upgraded by a well known ex-Meridian employee from a 568, using a brand new upgrade PCB. I have owned the unit for 10 years and it has never let me down, unlike the G68 that replaced it! I’ve kept it as a back up for the last 3 years as I’ve had so many issues, but the G68 has, fingers crossed, been behaving, so I am reluctantly selling it on. Comes in original box with inserts and power lead. As a side note: since the upgrade, it’s displays “bad software” when you set the type, but not at any other time during use. The ex-employee said this was a known issue that was never fixed, but means nothing and doesn’t not impact use / sound / operation in anyway. I had it upgraded ~ 6 years ago so I am 100% confident on this.

This Meridian Signature Reference 808.2 CD Player was received by us as a part exchange from a longstanding customer of ours. It is in excellent condition and only has a few minor marks and cosmetic scratches (see photos for more). The previous customer has included FOC a brand new spare laser mechanism in the box should its new owner ever need to change it!It comes in its original box with remote control, power cable and manual. Here is a brief description from the original customer Once hailed as “the world’s best CD player” I never completely took to it, although I adored the Meridian 508.24 I’d owned previously. I always thought it was far too big, I didn’t really like the design, I hated the plasticky CD tray and I immediately regretted not having bought the 808i version, which had separate pre-amp controls and would have allowed me to input digital and use the unit as a separate DAC. It does sound good, though - very good indeed - and somebody with a large legacy library of CDs will want it. It was factory upgraded by Meridian to the v.2 version (paperwork’s in the box) and a new purchaser can take comfort from the brand new spare laser mechanism I’ve also put into the box. The supplier of the laser also provides a fitting service if it’s ever needed (paperwork in the laser box). This was bought by me as a future-proofing precaution but it’s never been needed.
