A rare find here. No info on this on the internet. Unit works but the input selector is weird. It wont pass audio on the indents but will if you move the controller between the indents. Watch the video for a demonstration. I dont know if it was designed this way or not. If you put the rcas on the tape input you can just press the tape button and bypass the input selector. Volume and balance controls are scratch free. No power cable included. Will package carefully and ship immediately upon payment

Melos hybrid tube headphone amp and preamplifier with original remote. Works well and sounds very nice. For parts or repair due to the fact the volume does not go all the way down even when turned all the way down. Includes 2 electro-harmonix 6922 with very low hours. Has phono inputs, but either this unit didnt actually come with a phono section, or it just doesnt work. Previous owner upgraded some of the capacitors, but it appears to be mostly original. Faceplate has a few scratches. The remote is required to use the preamp. In case the buyer is unfamiliar with these, there is a couple minute wait for the unit to warm up. When its ready you press the power button on the remote to unmute it. Strangely, the mute button only mutes and does not unmute. Took me awhile to figure that one out. Uses a standard 3 prong power cord (not included) Will be packed well and shipped promptly.

The pre-amp was first released in the US around mid 90s, it was a Class A Recommended Component by Stereophile back in Oct 1998 , and was favorably reviewed by Russell Novak in Stereophile’s April 1994 issue. Cost then in USD was $4400. It was renowned to have an excellent level of tonal richness and absence of grain, ambiance retrieval, beautiful tone, quiet gain; great sound staging quality and long term listen-ability. This is a plug and play preamp without any hassle. It has the preferred feature of being a fully balanced pre-amp and has Balanced (XLR) and RCA connections.Comes in two chassis, power supply and line stage preamp and weighs ~ 25kgs.
