The Akurate Kontrol is a stunning preamplifier which includes an internal phono stage. This can be easily set to either Moving Coil, Moving Magnet or as an extra line level input. The Akurate Kontrol has been updated with the lastest Linn Davaar firmware. When connected to a network the configuration of the Akurate Kontrol can be very neatly modified using the same Linn Konfig software that is used for the DS series of products. For the Akurate Kontrol this means setting sensible input names is very easy to do. The Akurate Kontrol will be supplied with a Linn remote control and a power lead. Dies wiederum lässt noch besseren Klang erwarten, da das bei Linn übliche (und dort vorbildlich störarme) Schaltnetzteil weniger belastet wird und keine ungenutzen Sektionen die übrig geliebenen Bauteile beeinflussen können. Der Pusrismus ging aber nicht so weit, dass Linn auf die Anbindung an das eigene Multiroom-System Knekt verzichtete. So kann die Majik Kontrol innerhalb dieses Konzepts vier Räume mit symmetrischen Hochpegelsignalen versorgen. Konsequenter Weise gib es auch RS-232-Ein/Ausgänge, denn mit dieser Schnittstelle sind nicht nur Updates möglich, sondern auch Steuerung durch Touch Panels. Neu ist die Phonoplatine mit separater Schaltung für MM- sowie MC-Abtaster. Die doppelte Auslegung der Platine bietet beiden Abtasterprinzipien perfekte Arbeitsbedingungen. Dass dieses Konzept aufgeht, zeigten auch die herausragenden Labormesswerte. Im Hörraum fühlten die Tester der Majik Kontrol auf den Zahn. Und schon mit CD-Kost überzeugte sie mit lockerem musikalischen Fluss, feinen Obertönen sowie einer ausgesprochen deutlichen Artikulation von Gesangsstimmen; die Tester meinten förmlich an den Lippen der brasilianischen Sängerin Cibelle (The Shine Of Dried Electric Leaves) zu hängen, so klar hörten sie auch die kleinsten Nuancen. Die Kontrol klang sogar einen Hauch besser als die formidable Exotik, was aber nicht ganz für einen weiteren Klangpunkt reichte.
