Cosmetically superb, with only the usual age/use related patina of an amp of this age.Please see pictures It looks original and unmolested. Nioce original valeb line-up with Osram black bottles It sounds really nice, it does have some background hum, but this is to be expected. This is sold for light restoration, so should be re-capped before use. No crackles form the pre and all valves test good on the Avo. The locating stubs on the KT61 valves have broken off, which is very common, i have marked the underside of the tubes with small line to indicate where the notch used to be. Please inspect the pictures (please also use the zoom function on the photos) and be sure of what you are buying, please don’t buy this if you are at all unsure, I will answer any questions you have, just email BEFORE PURCHASING. It has not been tested, and the tubes have not been checked. The cord that connects the preamp to a Leak amplifier appears to be complete, but the preamp cannot be powered up without a Leak amplifier, which provides its power supply. Note: the red knob inserts are probably replacements. I believe the originals were black. If not, this is a first for me. Ive never seen a Leak preamp with red inserts. LEAK Stereo 20 Valve Amplifier + Point One Preamplifier Vintage Leak Stereo 20 Valve amplifier plus a Point One Stereo Valve Preamplifier. They have been in dry storage for quite a few years and now been dusted down and externally wiped/cleaned up. Both are in very good cosmetic condition and have been well looked after. They appear to be original and unmolested internally. The Point One preamplifier looks almost brand new. The amplifiers were connected using the included cables and when briefly powered up they appear to be working fine with minor audio scratches/noise heard when controls/potentiometers were used. The audio sounded great on a pair of Castle Conway Speakers. Due to the age of these amplifiers it is recommended that a professional service is carried out before being used in earnest. Included will be a power lead with original Bulgin plug, a switch cable which is connected to the main amplifier and the Octal cable for connection from Point One Preamplifier to the Stereo 20 Amplifier. A superb LEAK Stereo 20 with its matching Point One Stereo preamplifier. Cosmetically they are in a near mint condition and do perform superbly. Both unit have had all the electrolytic capacitors checked and all those found off specifications have been replaced with high quality ones, to preserve the sound signature. (See last photos) Most of the valves on both units are Mullard. The combo has been playing with the Celestion Ditton 44 ( a mint pair, untouched, as it came out of the factory) and the results are nonetheless impressive. As a personal fact, I would love that the new owner would keep the pairing together, considering that the speakers will be sold one day.
