Up for sale is a used Denafrips Ares ii dac i purchased from ebay about two months back. The unit came to me with a small imperfections one on the front panel and one stripped screw that i will place electrical tape over so it is easily identifiable. because of these imperfections im rating this dac a C+ cosmetically but an (A) for functionality and sound quality. For your consideration is a fantastic Denafrips Ares II R2R DAC, running the desirable v1.8 FPGA firmware update (which vastly improves the detail, timbre, and imaging abilities of the DAC…tons of info online about this recommended update…the unit can be reverted to it’s factory firmware version if you so desire). I am the second owner, where this was used in an audiophile setup free from children, pets, smoke, or other electronic dangers…it was lovingly enjoyed and cared for over the past 1.5 years. Barely used Ares II purchased directly from vinshine audio in 7/21. This DAC was in my 2nd system and barely used (maybe 2-3 months?). This is because I liked the sound so much I purchased a Pontus II and then a Terminator. So the Ares II has been sitting in a box in my closet for quite awhile. I need to clear out space for new equipment (you know how it goes!). It functions flawlessly and there are no notable scratches. Sounds great! I will include an AC power cord upon buyer request.
