La prima versione di questo registratore viene prodotta nel 1955, le sue piccole dimensioni lo faranno essere l’oggetto del desiderio da parte di tutti. Il design estetico è molto innovativo e presenta anche una certa facilità di utilizzo. L’audio è gradevole grazie alla valvola finale UL 41.Nel complesso si tratta di un bel prodotto, tra i primi ad essere diffusi su larga scala, nonostante il costo elevato, di L. 42.000 che corrispondono grossolanamente a circa 600 Euro rapportato ai giorni nostri.La parte meccanica è molto semplice, l’elettronica è estremamente miniaturizzata, per quel periodo storico in cui è stato prodotto, le valvole ed i condensatori dell’alimentatore sono alloggiati nella parte inferiore. Opinione personale.Il Geloso G-255 S, come altri oggetti che sto inserzionando è da sempre nella mia famiglia; fu acquistato negli anni 60 da mia nonna che lo utilizzava per le sue interviste e le personali sessioni di pianoforte presso il conservatorio. Si tratta di un prodotto che in rete è facilmente rinvenibile ma nel mio caso è impreziosito da alcuni dettagli, ovvero la scatola e le istruzioni in originale, il pickup radio, modello 9009 con scatola originale e diversi nastri registrati ma anch’essi con scatola e supporti originali.Il registratore era andato perso durante l’ultimo trasloco, ho ritrovato la scatola solo alcune settimane fa ed ho pensato di rimetterlo in funzione. La prima operazione che ho dovuto effettuare è stata una accurata pulizia delle parti in plastica che presentavano strati di sporcizia accumulatasi nel corso del tempo, chiedo venia sin d’ora se in foto potrebbero apparire ancora alcune tracce di sporco ma io non ho le competenze tali da poter smontare per intero il prodotto, con grande attenzione ho solo rimosso le parti in plastica inferiore, sì da poter lavorare in maniera più accurata, nello smontaggio ho avuto modo di visionare l’interno dell’apparecchio, che rispetto all’esterno si presentava sicuramente più pulito, ritengo inoltre, da sommaria osservazione, che le componenti elettriche siano rimaste le originali, dopo ciò ho provveduto ad accendere l’apparecchio, “l’occhio magico”, si è illuminato, agendo sulla manopola del volume sentivo il gracchiare dell’altoparlante, ma ahimè per mia grande incompetenza non sono riuscito a farlo funzionare, agendo sui pulsanti, non ho sentito ruotare il motore, per cui anche avendo diversi nastri non ho potuto testarlo, l’unico difetto che ad occhio ho potuto osservare è che il supporto per la bobina sx appare quasi allentato e non perfettamente in sede, ma io dall’esterno non noto rotture. Per questa motivazione purtroppo, non essendo io un tecnico, sono costretto ad inserzionare il magnetofono come non funzionante o per parti di ricambio. Ritengo possa prestarsi benissimo come ottima base di restauro o nella ipotesi più remota come donatore di pezzi di ricambio per altro registratore anche se, per come si presente esteticamente l’oggetto a mio modo di vedere andrebbe salvato. Il G-255 è completo, non manca alcunchè, tasti, cursori, leve e quant’altro sono tutti presenti, i piedini in plastica che su quasi tutti gli apparecchi di una certa età si perdono o rovinano, nell’esemplare in mio possesso sono ancora presenti ed efficienti.Dal punto di vista estetico per un oggetto che potrebbe mediamente avere 60 anni, lo stesso si presenta in condizioni di conservazioni molto buone; fatta eccezione per il coperchio para-polvere superiore che reca una rottura che lo attraversa quasi interamente, ma che comunque rende ancora lo stesso utilizzabile, lo chassis in plastica del Geloso è ancora in condizioni ottimali. La colorazione ha mantenuto ancora la sua sfumatura beige-bianca, sono presenti alcuni difetti, perlopiù graffi di lieve entità ma non ho riscontrato rotture, scalfitture e fenditure o comunque difetti tali da compromettere l’aspetto visivo e strutturale del prodotto. In passato mi è capita di vedere diversi esemplari simili ma in condizioni molto peggiore, poiché mi è parso di comprendere che la plastica con la quale l’oggetto era realizzata, nel corso del tempo, tendeva a rompersi. Ora non voglio dire che il mio esemplare sia da museo, ma ritengo sia realmente un ottimo pezzo. Particolarità del prodotto è che ho ritrovato per intero il corredo originario, ovvero così com’era stato acquistato, scatola in cartone originale, al cui interno vi è una ulteriore per contenere il magnetofono, bollettino tecnico Nr68; 5 supporti con relativi nastri e confezione in cartone originale, ulteriori due bobine con nastro ma senza scatola; pickup radio modello n9009, con scatola e francamente non so se sia mai stato utilizzato per le ottime condizioni in cui è; purtroppo manca solo il microfono che ahimè sarà andato smarrito. Il cartone presenta tracce di logorio e invecchiamento, non è sicuramente in condizioni ottimali ma andava comunque salvato perché rappresenta a modo suo, un pezzo di storia. Il manuale, mostra alcuni segni del tempo e pieghe sui margini. For this reason, unfortunately, since I am not a technician, I am forced to list the tape recorder as not working or for spare parts. I believe it could lend itself very well as an excellent basis for restoration or in the most remote hypothesis as a donor of spare parts for another recorder even if, given how the object aesthetically presents itself, in my opinion it should be saved. The G-255 is complete, nothing is missing, keys, sliders, levers and anything else are all present, the plastic feet which are lost or damaged on almost all devices of a certain age, in the example in my possession they are still present and efficient.From an aesthetic point of view, for an object that could be 60 years old on average, it is in very good condition; except for the upper dust cover which has a crack that runs almost entirely through it, but which still makes it usable, the Gelosos plastic chassis is still in excellent condition. The color has still maintained its beige-white shade, there are some defects, mostly minor scratches but I have not found any breaks, nicks or cracks or in any case defects such as to compromise the visual and structural appearance of the product. In the past I happened to see several similar examples but in much worse conditions, as I understood that the plastic with which the object was made tended to break over time. Now I dont want to say that my example is for a museum, but I think it is a really excellent piece.A peculiarity of the product is that I found the original kit in its entirety, as it was purchased, the original cardboard box, inside which there is an additional one to contain the tape recorder, technical bulletin Nr68; 5 supports with relative ribbons and original cardboard packaging, two further reels with ribbon but without box; radio pickup model n9009, with box and frankly I dont know if it has ever been used due to the excellent condition it is in; unfortunately the only thing missing is the microphone which unfortunately will have been lost. The cardboard shows traces of wear and aging, it is certainly not in optimal conditions but it still needed to be saved because it represents, in its own way, a piece of history. The manual shows some signs of aging and creases on the margins. Supports in good condition, I cannot guarantee the healthiness of the tapes since I was not able to test them, pickups in excellent condition.
