Vintage Webster Chicago Electronic Memory 288-1. Pretty nice condition for its age. Few marks and scuffs. Gold plated parts are worn. The two cups in the inside of the lid were reattached to the lid i believe. Plays great. Sounds way better than I thought it would. All the wires are music I believe. Comes with power cord and mic all are in pretty darn good original condition. I did not try to record anything. I honestly do not know how. Up for auction is a Webster Chicago Model 66-1A Portable Amplifier Tube Amp from 1948. The wax capacitors have been replaced with Orange Drop Capacitors and the 2 paper capacitors were replaced with Sprague Capacitors. A 3 prong power cord was added as the original one was very brittle. I left the original input cord as it wasnt as brittle. I also replaced the bad tubes with new ones, all tubes test very well. The amp doesnt get too loud but has a nice vintage tone to it. The cabinet is in very good condition considering its age. The original capacitors and power cord are included for amp candy. Tubes are: 1 X 6N71 X 5Y32 X 6V6

Webster Chicago were one of the first companies in the mid 1920s to manufacture amplifiers for the new Talkie movies of the era. This amplifier is a prime example of one of their early cinema tube amplifiers. I have never seen another for sale. Im sure there are not too many of these left in the world today. The amplifier is powered by a pair of Type 247 power tubes, a type 80 Rectifier, a 227 and a 24A. Cosmetically the amplifier is in amazing condition for the age. It shows normal paint wear but It was kept in dry heated storage for over 50 years. It looks stunning! Mechanically the amp has not been tested. It will require a tech to install new caps and do a full service before it could be used. The amp is being sold for parts/repair for restoration. No returns.
