The headphones are fed from the speaker rails (before the speaker relays) through 333-1/3 ohm series resistors.The protection relay comes before the headphone takeoff. The protection relay waits 5-10 seconds at turn-on, and also trips if there is too mu DC at the outputs.The meters use a semi-peak half wave detector and drive the needles which have VU ballistics.
