I cleaned the spindle with 99% industrial isopropyl alcohol and cleaned out the well with lint-free detailing swabs. I refilled the well with exactly 3 drops of hypoid gear oil. I dont like the feet on the P5. If it were me, I would replace them. Theres nothing damaged about them, I just dont care for them. I also dont care for the plastic sub-spindle. There are aluminum options out there if you are so inclined. The Perspex (British, remember) dust cover is in great condition with only the faintest wisps of scratches. It could easily be polished out with some superfine 3M machine polish if you need it to be invisible. Im nitpicking here. Its really in fantastic shape. Youll find a link to a demo video below. Obviously this was not an ideal testing setup sitting on top of an old A/V receiver, but I didnt feel like moving components around. I have owned & used this Rega Exact MM Cartridge which I purchased in Dec 2020. Full working order, approx 400 hours use.I havent got the original box, but it does come complete with the 3no mounting screws, 2no nuts and the dust cover. I have tried to take decent close up photos of the stylus, which looks in pretty decent shape in my opinion. The cartridge works well and sounds great too. Rega Planar RP3 record player. Rega RB300 arm, with a Michell technoweight counterbalance upgrade. Fantastic condition. Has just been serviced, with a new Rega Exact cartridge (£299) fitted, and a new belt. All fully tested prior to listing, works without fault. Superb sounding deck that is easy to use and generally maintentance free. Collection only from my home in Bristol. I will not, ever, post a delicate record player, as even despite often having all the original packing, Ive still had experiences of horrendous courier treatment!
