Here is an iconic 90’s pioneer CD player with the legendary stable platter mechanism, where you insert the disc upside down on a turntable platter. This model is very similar to the famous pioneer pd-65 but smaller and simpler, sounding identical to my ears (I own a pd-65) but for less than half the price. This model has a unique warm vinyl-like sound characteristic of the elite stable platter series of the time. This particular example is fully working; it reads and plays cd’s flawlessly, fast forwards and rewinds, and sounded great when I tested it with my sound system. Cosmetically, it is also great with just some minor scratches. Simply insert the disc upside down, press play and your good to go! Pioneer Elite PD-65 CD Player w/remote. Working. Original owner. Very good cond. CD Player / Transport. Back in the day in 1994 this was one of the best available CD players on the market. I am the original owner and this unit is still in use in my two channel home system and works perfectly. These were built like a tank and are still in demand as a high quality transport. Although the installed onboard DAC was no slouch in its day a modern quality external DAC will provide improved sound reproduction. It has a capacitor mod on the analog output for each channel.
