Das Gerät ist direkt unter dem A-717 MKII angesiedelt und verfügt über eine ebenso solide Verarbeitung und eine umfangreiche Ausstattung. Er besitzt natürlich ein Vollmetallgehäuse mit Alu-Front und einen Lautstärke-Regler aus Metall. Auch die weiteren Drehregler sind massiv und mit einer Madenschraube auf ihrer Achse gesichert. Auch im Inneren macht das Gerät mit dem großen Trafo und den Speicherelkos mit ausreichend Kapazität einen guten Eindruck. Da der Tonabnehmertyp zwischen MC und MM wählbar ist, kann man auch hier frei wählen. Auch Anschlüsse für weitere Geräte sind in ausreichender Menge vorhanden. Der Verstärker bietet durch die vorhandenen Tape3/Adaptor In/Out Anschlüsse auch die Möglichkeit einen Equalizer anzuschließen.
