Up for sale is a vintage Lafayette Model LR-800 Tube Stereo Stereophonic Receiver. I got this at an estate sale, I turned it on with a variac voltage regulator and went up to 70 volts and 2 tubes were glowing too much so I turned it down. No further testing was done. On the bottom of the unit appears that someone has worked on it in the past. Therefore this unit is being sold as described for Parts or Repair. A Vintage / Original LAFAYETTE Model LR-800 Vacuum Tube Hi-Fi Stereo STEREOPHONIC RECEIVER - Not Tested. c.1965 advertising/catalog copy states: The Lafayette Model LR-800 is a deluxe stereophonic high fidelity music center. It combines an AM tuner, FM stereo multiplex tuner, stereo control preamplifier, and a powerful 70 watt stereo amplifier (35 watts each channel) in one single, handsomely styled component. This unit is closely related to the KENWOOD Model KW-70 AM/FM Stereo Multiplex Receiver of the same era. As found recently, I am unable to safely test this vacuum tube unit (no Variac) so I am selling it as you see it & not tested. Please ask any questions prior to placing a bid and/or auctions close. Visually it appears to be in nice original not-tested condition showing light storage wear (see pics). Shipping is based on 43 lbs safely packed from 17043.
