Sears paired them up with some Jensen tweeters, installed in some very stout cabinets and sold them with the SILVERTONE name. The Sears part number for this speaker was: 38-604-1This pair hasent been used in at least 30 years. From the Fender Site:The smallest powered AlNiCo 12” in the range, the P12R is the classic choice for the lower powered combo amps of the tweed era. It was very common in Fender®, Epiphone® and Ampeg® amps until the early ‘60s. The P12R is bright and colorful, has excellent cut and sparkle, and breaks up easily. Very early Jensen 12 Alnico Coaxial speaker. It is marked Radio Craftsman(which was a vintage USA audio manufacturer), but is clearly made by Jensen with Jensen manufacturing codes and numbers. This is the very early version, probably 1950s, which has a alnico horseshoe magnet for the tweeter driver, large round alnico magnet for the woofer section, tar filled 2 way crossover that is attached to the frame, 16 ohms. The tweeter and woofer section both work, but the woofer cone needs to be reconed/replaced. There are numerous small nicks and scratches, but is in original working condition, but will need repair/reconed/restored. It has the incomparable vintage Jensen design, craftsmanship, attention to detail, parts quality, efficiency and potential that only vintage Jensen speakers can offer. For sale are a pair of 8 inch 1960s Jensen alnico mid range drivers, model P8-UM. These came from a pair of Jensen Tri-ettes but may have also used in a number of other models. Cones are good and the drivers test well as pictured. Description: 1959 JENSEN (P12P?) / B&H 12 Alnico Speaker, 16 ohm, 220936 The speaker is in good vintage condition. It tests 13.8 ohms with a multimeter. The basket and bell are in very good condition. The cone is in good condition with one small spot of damage - very small tear at edge about 1/2 in size. See photos. One of the speaker plugs has bent prongs. Please see all photos. The Bell & Howell part number is 16863. The speaker measures 12-1/8 x 6-1/2 and weighs 6 lbs 7 oz.

A matched pair of vintage alnico speakers with cloth surrounds. The diameter of the metal basket is 8. Speaker codes of 220646 and 220647 identifies them as Jensen speakers made in June and July of 1964. The other no. or identification code printed on the basket is P8 RJF, C8476-2. Tested on meter and got dcr readings of about 5 ohms on each and tested with audio signal and they sound good. The cones and cloth surrounds are good but some might want to re-apply some coating to the cloth surrounds but will leave that to buyer. Only minor issue is that the top surface of the laminated cardboard around the edge of the basket has some spots where the outer layer is missing. On one of them most of the surface cardboard is intact and on the other more is missing than is there. Dont know if these were mounted from the rear with the cardboard pressed against the baffle so you might want to add a little silicone sealer or putty to fill the slight gaps or from the front, in which case the missing cardboard would have no effect whatsoever, only cosmetic. You could just remove the rest of the outer layer so they would all be even. Dont have any mounting screws. Offered for your consideration is one (1) vintage Jensen Alnico magnet 3½ inch cone tweeter, USA-made in 1966. As you probably know, Chicago’s Jensen was a prolific speaker company from the 1940’s through the mid 1980’s, and was a leading OEM supplier to the domestic speaker industry in addition to manufacturing their own model speakers. Per the EIA-format date code on the side of the magnet covers, “605”, this tweeters was made by Jensen in the 5th week of 1966. It is identical to their model P35-VAH tweeters, but, being it was ordered by KN Knight for their speakers, it was marked with the OEM part number, AT3I.So, please take a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this classic Jensen high frequency driver should be yours. This Jensen tweeter is in clean, excellent condition. The thin paper cone is flawless and the voice coil dustcap is perfect as well. Plus, the galvanized steel basket is in great shape with no dings or noteworthy oxidation noted. And, the +/- terminals measure the industry-standard .205”, are marked for polarity, and I’ve left a few inches of input wire soldered to the terminals for the new owner’s convenience in splicing-in to their intended application. For being over 55 years old, this is an exceptionally well-preserved tweeter. Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds terrific—clear and strong with the warm vintage tone that makes Alnico magnet speakers so desirable today. Plus, I tested its DC resistance tested at 5.2?, consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the basket flange measure 3½” square, it stands roughly 2?” high, and the mounting pattern is the standard EIA-spec for U.S.-made 3½” drivers—2¾” adjacent / 4” diagonal, c-t-c.These is a nice find for someone that need a 3½” cone tweeters as a replacement in their 1960’s-70’s Jensen, Knight/KN, Heath, Magnavox, or many other U.S.-made vintage speakers.As pictured and described, this remarkable Jensen 3½” Alnico magnet tweeter is offered at a competitive price.
