For sale are the HiFiMAN HE-6 Headphones (4 screw OG version). Introduced back in 2010, the original HE-6 was HiFiMANs flagship headphone model. Its design was unconventional, mainly due to the use of an “Almost Nanometer Grade” diaphragm coated with a thin gold trace, a pioneering feature now replicated in the Susvara. The HE-6 also stands out through its brutally low efficiency, so youll definitely need a very powerful amplifier to feed it properly. Widely considered as one of the best sounding headphones ever made, this model has been discontinued since 2015 and is currently harder and harder to get a hold of on the used market.The pair Im selling is the 4 screw version of the model (referring to the number of screws that externally surround the driver opening), which is pretty much the rarest to find. Soundwise, its the most resolving and ethereal sounding compared to all other HE-6 units, with the tightest and fastest bass delivery. It is in great condition, which is a real rarity given its age, completely stock (no driver modifications) besides the headband, which has been replaced with a HiFiMAN Hybrid one from a Sundara (costs 125$ alone). Comes in its original presentation box (the leather coating on it has started to peel off with time, but still does its job to protect the headphone perfectly) including the original XLR cable and user manual.
