SME 3009 series iii Tonearm. Comes with cables but no cartridge. Selling on behalf of my elderly neighbour who was a classical enthusiast and bought this new so is a one owner example. This came off a working Thorens table which has now been sold. Its in fantastic condition and will be well packaged or can be picked up from Kingston upon Thames KT1. I will be listing an early version 3009 unimproved along with some quad amps and various head shells, cartridges classical records and a Garrard 401 that also belonged to my neighbour. Garrard 401 / SME 12inch arm cut custom plinth. I am reluctantly selling this braced retro custom homemade hardwood plinth with hinged lid as it is now no longer required .The Garrard 401 motor mounting board is 2cm thick so very sturdy . I had intended to reinforce and isolate and brace it more and make it even more solid than it is but it is now an aborted project for me as i no longer have the time . However it is very good as it is and ready to use . As you can see from the photos it is finished in a retro formica type veneer rosewood finish . The lid is made from black perspex and wood and is hinged . There is a slight repaired crack to the bottom corner right hand of the lid . ( see photos ) I recommend you open and close the perspex lid with the wooden side cheeks . The perspex lid has some light scratches visible due to age when viewed under strong light but i think they could be buffed out with care . There is also a very slight lift to the veneer on one of the rear corners but it is barely visible . ( see photos ) So grab bargain and get that vintage GARRARD 401 turntable and SME 12 inch arm back in use . The dimensions with the lid closed are : 60.5 cms Wide x 48cms Deep x 23.5cms High. The weight including the hinged lid is 10kgs. The plinth will be well packed and protected for delivery .

Garrard 401 turntable with SME 3009 tonearm.in solid real wood cabinet. This was my uncles pride, i inherited it when he passed away. It has been stored in the back of a cupboard for about 8 years. it was only recently that i remembered it was there. I had a boxed spare tone arm wich i stuck on eBay and was amazed at how much it sold for, it was quite rare apparently, that got me thinking that maybe i should get the deck out and sell that. So here we are. The cabinet is solid wood with a beautiful grain, there are some small marks due to wear but unfortunately the metal Perspex surround has tarnished as shown. Turntable is in good working order with the little light coming on. I cannot post this as it is extremely heavy. I remember this from the early 70s may even been earlier not sure. The photos will give a better description than i can write. But if you have any questions please do not hesitate to message me, check out my eBay status for previous items that i have sold, I will not trust this item to any form of mail so defiantly pick up only from Canvey Island Essex. So, after five decades of collecting vinyl and Hi-Fi, the time has finally come to downsize. Over the next few months, with great reluctance, I will be gradually selling off my treasured collection of records, cds and hi-fi equipment. It will take a while !!!For instant sale is a superb example of the legendary GARRARD 401 TURNTABLE. It is set in an SME plinth with an original SME perspex lid and is fitted with an original SME arm with a SHURE V15 MARK 2 SUPERTRACK cartridge. Absolutely top quality. It also has an original Bulgin plug fitting as can be seen in the photos - true vintage kit but it could easily be upgraded if necessary. It has had a mini-service and a new phono and earth lead fitted. Everything is in really excellent condition with just a few blemishes. Even the lid only has a couple of marks. I have tried to show the main blemishes in the photos so please study them carefully to see the condition for yourself.Everything works and performs beautifully - even the strobe as you can see in the photos and the video. Please give the short video a listen. Unfortunately it does not come with an instruction manual or original box.If you really appreciate top quality hi-fi then this could be the deck for you. I think you would be hard-pressed to find a better example of such a classic, vintage piece of kit. Collection only Im afraid - I really dont want to risk it going through the post. However, I am happy to drive some distance to meet the purchaser halfway to hand the item over - I live in Suffolk near Ipswich. Custom built Garrard 401 / 301/ SME 3009 Quad display cabinet .This unit has been specifically made for the Garrard 401 which has a suspended sub chassis , It accommodates the SME 3009 .Its possible that a new sub chassis could be replaced to accommodate the Garrard 301 or any other turnable.THE GARRARD 401 IS NOT in the sale . The previous owner has had this unit specially built and I cant stress sufficiently how well made this unit it is. There are no scratches or marks on it at all.
