Vintage Bob Carver TFM-55x Power Amplifier Mono/Stereo 1000w Lucas Film THX Certified acquired from the original owner. Thoroughly tested this amplifier works 100% as it should. Both left and right channels have strong output, stereo / mono switch on the back works, both lighted meters are accurate, range and light switches perform their intended functions. Conservatively rated at 380 watts per channel at 8 ohms, 500 watts per channel at 4 ohms and 1000 watts in bridged mono mode at 8 ohms. Sound quality is probably the best I have ever heard. Cosmetically there are some nicks on the sharp top edge of the face plate bezel(touched up with black marker) and some light marks on the top of the case. Please view the auction photos. Working TFM55 amplifier, sat unused for over a year so the volume pot was noisy but that seemed to clear up after some use. But you may want to clean the pot to keep it noise free. Sold asis, I have a local offer of 475 so not willing to go any lower the the buy now price of 585 on ebay, not worth the time of packing it and paying ebay fees. Working but sold asis, no returns. If listing goes unsold for 10 days (maybe sooner) may end it to sell local. Unit is working great with all functions working as they should as it has been fully tested. Back of the screw plate is slightly damaged on the rear but doesnt effect the look as it is mostly unseen from the front of the unit. The inside of the unit has tape that I assume is holding in the led meters from the previous owner, again it could be fixed or left as it is as it does not effect the functionality of the meters, nor an eyesore as it is internal and unseen. For sale is a classic Carver TFM35 amplifer. It delivers a massive 250 watts per channel into 8 ohms. It is in good cosmetic condition with a little wear and minor scuffs. I tested it and it works well and sounds great. The meters no longer light up so you may wish to fix those. I have long been a Carver fan and love whenever I find one. They sound amazing.
