This is an effectively NEW CONDITION Audio Design Associates Suite 7.1BA - a powerful yet tiny high-end preamp (1 rack space!), designed and built in the USA, overwhelmingly versatile and lauded by audiophiles. Dolby Digital EX, THX Ultra 2 Certified, and insanely good specs that you can really hear. This unit suffered a front panel illumination failure after much loving use by a wealthy customer, and was factory rebuilt, with entirely new rack mount faceplate and controls, fresh firmware, and a complete calibration to specification. To avoid being without his theater, the customer elected to buy another immediately and when this one came back from ADA, it was tested and put into storage as a backup, where it stayed until now. Theres no trace of marks on the rack front or back panel. Only the outside case shows it was reused in the rebuild. You can also see that Ive not removed the factory-applied face protection film... thats for you to enjoy as the first to put your fingers on this pristine and effectively new preamp. Basic reality testing was done without altering the factory settings, and no issues were found. This is truly an amazing unit. ADA - Audio Design Associates - Top of the line CINEMA REFERENCE MACH II in fabulous condition, Factory Refurbished with new display and full recalibration/certification. The CINEMA REFERENCE is the big daddy of the smaller, cheaper Cinema Rhapsody - which is saying a LOT. This was a customer unit in a very high end installation. After some years of use, the front display became dim, and the unit was sent back to ADA for factory repair. That took longer than the customer wanted to be without his theater, so he bought another one and when this came back, we shelved it, still factory sealed, as a backup. Years went by and now this is for sale. Originally selling for a cool $10,000 (really!), this model has everything that tech offered at the time and still is stellar... THX SELECT ULTRA 2 certification, and a built-in TV screen to monitor inputs. This is the MACH II unit, far more advanced than the original Reference. Reviews were and still are spectacular: I have been using my Reference 20 for over three years and I cannot produce a single complaint about this unit. I really do believe this is the closest to an audiophile quality component you can purchase for the price.
