This 2300 is in fine shape, without issue. Cosmetically clean, operationally sound. For sale here is my beloved McIntosh C2300 tube preamplifier. This unit was purchased from Paragon Sight and Sound and has performed flawlessly. The only flaw this unit has is the red standby indicator light is out. Like most of this era the remote is starting to get a little tacky (sticky). It has the commemorative gold package installed on it. This gold package was only available to owners of the C2200 who also had the commemorative gold edition MC2000 power amp in 1998. I suspect a previous owner owned the C2200/MC2000 combo and then upgraded the preamp to the C2300 and just reinstalled the gold package onto it. This makes for kind of a one-of-a-kind C2300 that is really wonderful to look at. In May the output tubes installed are Mazda 12AX7 military 1960 NOS long plates made for La Radiotechnique. The tubes were $250/pr. The C2300 will come complete with factory packaging, box, remote, and power cord. This 2300 is in fine shape, without issue. Cosmetically clean, operationally sound. For sale here is my beloved McIntosh C2300 tube preamplifier. This unit was purchased from Paragon Sight and Sound and has performed flawlessly. The only flaw this unit has is the red standby indicator light is out. Like most of this era the remote is starting to get a little tacky (sticky). It has the commemorative gold package installed on it. This gold package was only available to owners of the C2200 who also had the commemorative gold edition MC2000 power amp in 1998. I suspect a previous owner owned the C2200/MC2000 combo and then upgraded the preamp to the C2300 and just reinstalled the gold package onto it. This makes for kind of a one-of-a-kind C2300 that is really wonderful to look at. In May the output tubes installed are Mazda 12AX7 military 1960 NOS long plates made for La Radiotechnique. The tubes were $250/pr. The C2300 will come complete with factory packaging, box, remote, and power cord. They corrected performance issues and brought it back to a solid performer which delivers a warm reliable sound for me to enjoy. I have two SE-40s running in a dual mono configuration. Due to my age and retirement schedule, its time to scale back. I’m cutting back to one in a smaller system. Since Rainbow Electronics did repairs, I’ve had no problems for the 20+ years of ownership. Usage has been light, and as mentioned, I used as part of a dual mono setup. I’ve switched this unit back to stereo mode and it will be shipped as such. Additionally, the feedback jumper to open. I recently re-biased the tubes and will do this again taking pictures which Ill make available on request. Solo Electronics were known for their great iron and as such, this is a great foundation for those that may want to modify or tweak in their own direction. The amps have been babied in a non-smoker home and recently biased with no issue. The original inner and outer boxes and manual come with the amp. Obviously, a bias dongle/connector comes with it too. Each amp weighs at least 45lbs. Tubes are included and consist of 6 Svetlana, see picture.
