This was designed by Nelson Pass of Pass Labs and built by Ted Bennett of Threshold in Los Angeles CA. The amp was recapped two years ago and is working perfectly. My Uncle was the original owner and he had a pair of these running mono to a set of Klipschhorns for about 30 years. My Uncle is getting to old and doesnt hears as good as he used to so he asked if I could sell some of his system. He will not let go of the other amp. He paid $5000 for the pair of amps back in 2000. In excellent working condition, this Threshold Monoblock amp looks and sounds superb. It has a few very light cosmetic blemishes, as youd expect with age, but overall it presents very nicely. In terms of the sound quality, it is difficult to put into words how good this amp sounds, and the ways in which it excels. It has a very rich overall sound that is irresistible- sweet and delicate on the highs (you can hear every detail, but with NO harshness EVER), the mids are punchy and airy (very accurate and resolute, but SWEET on the ears!), and the bass is tight yet deep, powerful without being muddy or boomy. This amp has a way of creating the experience of massive SPACE in the sound, like there is somehow room for everything in the mix, like there is AIR in between each instrument, so that you can hear all the details of the music. The Threshold equipment was pretty outrageous.Most of us only dreamed of owning one of their products. Wish I had the preamp to go with this manual! There is also a warranty card/info included in this auction. Note that it says 10 year limited warranty ...dont see that much anymore. And as a extra bonus; ..also included is a Warning Important T2 Operating Instructions page thats not pictured. Very cool! This manual is in very nice shape with just light wear here and there.
