ULTRA RARE 1987 SONY WM-F501 WHITE WALKMAN DBB JAPANESE IMPORTEXCELLENT LOOKING AND SOUNDING AND FULL METAL BODY Rare & very good condition 1987 SONY WM-F501 in White Full Metal Case.This is the rare Japanese import with the DBB instead of MEGA BASS, as all the European models used instead as well as the Japanese stickers throughout. This clean example has had the following work done to it to ensure it works for the next 25+ years: The playback head has been replaced, diamond polished & demagnetized. Both capstans have been polished, cleaned & demagnetized. Both rubber pinch rollers have been replaced with brand new. All gears & switch gear have been checked & lubricated. The clutch gear has been replaced with new old stock. The large forward direction silver gear in the cassette bay has been replaced with new old stock (See photos showing the broken gears). All capacitors have been checked. The volume control dial has been replaced with new old stock. The playback direction plunger solenoid lever has been repaired & is fully working. The drivebelt has been replaced with brand new. Playback speed has been calibrated to 3055Hz.The sound is very clear, very punchy & very dynamic. It looks great & it sounds great too. The TV/FM/AM Radio Receiver works perfectly too. There are some age related rubs to the white paint here & there, but these are not deep scratch marks, or dents, on this 36 year old Walkman. There are two small marks on the front FM Radio panel. At the top & near the yellow DBB description paragraph above AUTO REVERSE The cassette bay is very clean & new looking. Very good condition with its belt clip only in a plain packing. radio working fine, but cassette tape working in fast speed for a minute or two then speed becomes normal , sound quality normal too.Forward and rewind functions working fine all the time.
