Vintage Sony Walkman Stereo Cassette Player, Model No. WM-10RV. It dates to the early 1980s, made in Japan, it measures 7-5/8 in length, it is in very good to excellent condition, battery box is clean, I put a battery in it and I could hear the motor humming properly when I pressed the various buttons. Also comes with a Chouinard oval carabiner that I think dates to the late 1970s, made in USA, this is the oval version that has the round body, stamped on one side with CHOUINARD and the other has 2000 KG-USA, it weighs 2.25 ounces (60 grams). Also 3 Chouinard pitons for Rock Climbing. I think they date to the 1970s, made in USA, I dont know the difference between a Knifeblade and a Bugaboo, they measure about 3, 3-5/8 and 4-1/2, all stamped with the diamond C, thickness varies (please see pictures). Also 8 vintage Chouinard stopper nuts. I think they date to the 1970s, made in the USA, all are wired, sizes are 2 (straight sides), the next size up is tapered, marked STOPPER, not sure of size, two the size 4, 5, 6, one is curved / asymmetric (marked STOPPER and 6), the last is curved on the back side (marked with the diamond C that has D B S around it and I think the number 7). Please look at the pictures closely and judge the condition of this item for yourself as the photos are a large portion of the description. This came in a few different colours and this light gold is the most rare. Incredibly clever design and beautifully finished in all brushed aluminum casing comes with an original plastic belt clip and original headset the condition is exceptional - super clean and immaculate Walkman. Even inside it is clean and has its original battery compartment cover. Stunning Red Sony Walkman WM-101 Fully Serviced Including Belt, Heads and Pinch Roller (s) clean. The unit is not much bigger than the cassette and is wonderfully engineered with a neat mint case! A couple of very small light marks - examine the photos and zoom in. Sound quality is great with excellent treble and great depth and frequency range to the sound - its analogue magic but please NOTE the unit can have a wobble now and again with the tape slowing etc - these units contain vintage electronics and as the belt has been replaced could well be the motor a bit weak with age. I also suspect because of this the auto- reverse function might not always work but turning the tape is no big shakes - enjoy the unit for what it is! Also please note the unit struggles with the FF and RR functions - these are vintage units and on all my Walkmans I avoid using these functions just have a good quality mix tape with all your favourite tracks. Also avoid using tapes longer than C60 - a C90 tape is a lot of tape to move for a portable battery player - especially one like this dating back to the 1980s. This was one of the first Walkmans to use a gum stick battery - you struggle to get a quality gum stick batteries these days - with this unit the gum stick battery holder is missing but you get the original holder for the AA battery which works a treat! Own a piece of history- from my own collection of Walkmans. Note the unit comes with no box and who will need your own quality over-ear headphones! There is also one tiny case screw missing but this no detrimental impact on case strength. The unit will be supplied with a new AA Duracell Battery fitted. Sony WM-10 when you push play nothing when you push fast forward the red indicator light comes on showing it has power, but then it goes out. when you hit rewind nothing and yes, that’s with a headphone plugged into it otherwise it would not power and the battery compartment is clean.
